THE ULTIMATE FASHION STATEMENT:

I’ve been there – and I’ve got the shorts to prove it!

01

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE.

The Dive Shop considers The Red Shorts Challenge the equivalent of earning your stripes, or in this case earning your shorts. Golfers aspire to wear the Green Jacket of the Masters, bicyclists dream about wearing the Yellow Jersey of the Tour De France, but in the dive world, it is all about your pair of Red Shorts.

The Dive Shop has set out a challenge for divers to visit as much of this under water treasure as possible – not only in far away exotic locations, but in their own back yard. To love the sport of scuba and to support the dive industry, the Red Shorts Challenge was born!

02

HOW IT WORKS.

A passport is provided to help the diver track and verify which of the local and worldwide dives they have experienced, and to have them documented by receiving a verification stamp from The Dive Shop after each trip. There is no time limit to completing the challenge and your quest may be spread out over as many dive vacations as you choose.

Upon completion of the Challenge you will receive an engraved trophy and have a plaque in your name placed on The Dive Shop Passport Club Red Shorts Challenge Wall of Fame. Only after completing the Red Shorts Challenge you will feel an inner sense of accomplishment and be an example to your peers; but you will also come to truly appreciate the beauty and wonder of the undersea world.

OUR PASSPORT CLUB ACTIVITIES

Find your Red Shorts Qualified Dives and join Tony Nitrox on an amazing adventure with The Dive Shop!

The Passport Club got its origins shortly after The Dive Shop opened in 1989. The first local trip was to Lake Powell and the first big adventure was to Catalina Island in California. Since its inception, the Passport Club has been around the world several times! The Passport Club playground includes exotic locations like Micronesia, the Caribbean, and Fiji (in fact, the Passport Club has been to Fiji every year since 1989!). With the motto “Finzup” and “get out there an dive!”, the Passport Club has been promoting conservation and cleanup efforts locally and worldwide. All students trained at The Dive Shop are automatically members of the Passport Club which now has thousands of members! Local adventures are lead by the amazing Tony Nitrox.

Who is Tony Nitrox?

Tony Nitrox

Born in obscurity but destined for greatness!

Tony’s first memories are from a traumatic beginning – washed ashore on a lonely beach after a violent hurricane, and adopted by a Sea Captain and nursed by a mermaid. He grew in stature and one day discovered the sport of Scuba diving. After that, all else was set aside – through his studies and experience he became known far and wide as “The Scubawise Guy”. Now, he leads the intrepid band of Passport Club members on dives to many exotic places, paving new paths and inspiring divers everywhere!

Thank you Tony for your awesomeness!
